Artist Vibe
Tim Kaye brings electric, crowd-pleasing energy to Georgetown Piano Bar's stage every week—think sing-along anthems, lightning-fast piano riffs, and a room full of strangers who leave as friends. Perfect for nights when you want less "quiet cocktail hour" and more "everyone-on-their-feet, belting-out-the-chorus" magic. He's been a regular fixture at our Georgetown stage since 2016, which means he knows exactly how to work our twin baby grands and our notoriously enthusiastic crowds.
Artist Bio
Tim Kaye is one of Georgetown Piano Bar's most beloved performers, known for turning every show into a full-contact sing-along experience. With formal classical training from Peabody Conservatory and over a decade of interactive piano bar performances across the mid-Atlantic, Tim has mastered the art of reading a room and delivering exactly what it needs—whether that's a heart-wrenching power ballad, a '90s throwback that gets the whole place screaming, or an impromptu mashup that shouldn't work but absolutely does.
His repertoire spans decades and genres: classic rock staples from Journey and Queen, pop hits from Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars, country favorites, hip-hop singalongs, and the occasional Broadway showstopper. On any given night at Georgetown Piano Bar, you'll catch Tim seamlessly transitioning from "Piano Man" to "Uptown Funk" to a surprise Disney medley that has the entire room singing along. If you can hum it, chances are Tim can play it—and make it better with a dueling-piano twist.
What sets Tim apart is his ability to make every guest feel like part of the show. He's quick with a joke, eager to spotlight birthday celebrants or bachelorette parties, and genuinely thrilled when the crowd drowns him out on the chorus. During his Thursday and Saturday night slots, regulars know to arrive early and bring cash for tips—Tim's request jar fills up fast, and he's known for remembering faces (and favorite songs) from previous visits. Requests are encouraged and competitively prioritized based on tips, and Tim's known for weaving them seamlessly into sets that keep energy high and drinks flowing. First-timers should know: when Tim starts "Don't Stop Believin'," standing on chairs is not only allowed but expected. Whether you're visiting Georgetown Piano Bar for the first time or you're a regular who knows all the words, Tim makes sure you're not just watching a show—you're in it.
